BARBARA(Heck) born 1734 in Ballingrane (Republic of Ireland) the daughter of Bastian Russell and Margaret Embury. The subject of a biography has been an active participant in important occasions or has articulated unique thoughts or suggestions that were recorded in a documentary format. Barbara Heck however left no documents or correspondence, so any evidence of such given the time of her wedding is not the only evidence. It is impossible to reconstruct the motives of Barbara Heck and her actions through her whole life based on original sources. However, she has become heroized in the beginning of North American Methodism time. The biographer has to define the myth, describe it and describe the person who is portrayed in the narrative.

Abel Stevens, a Methodist historian in 1866, wrote about this. The development of Methodism within the United States has now indisputably made the modest Barbara Heck's name Barbara Heck first on the lists of women's roles in the religious history of the New World. It is far more crucial to consider the magnitude of Barbara Heck's record relative to the label she was bestowed as opposed to the details of her personal life. Barbara Heck, who was unintentionally involved in the formation of Methodism across America as well as Canada, is a woman who's fame is due to the belief that any successful organization or movement can be celebrated for its roots to enhance their sense of continuity and tradition.
